Once just a holiday to reflect on the things we are thankful for, Thanksgiving has increasingly become a time to acquire more to be thankful for with the rise of Black Friday and Cyber Monday shopping deals. It has also become an opportunity for brands to share their company culture with their customers. This year, several notable retailers have declared that they will not be open on Thanksgiving so their employees can enjoy the holiday with their families.
When it comes to Thanksgiving at OpenSesame, we’re trying to preserve the spirit of the holiday. Last year, OpenSesame created a video of the things for which we are thankful. This year I asked the team: “What have you learned in the last year that you’re thankful for?” and “What experience from the last year are you thankful for?” Here are some of our responses:
I’ve learned of my love for blogging and writing. - Anna
I learned that there are lots of people in the world who would happily assume ownership of most of the things I complain about. This awareness has provided a healthy perspective of life stress and blessings. - Pete
I’m thankful for the opportunity to travel and meet new people both around the world and locally, around Portland. - Anna
And while we’re sharing, here’s one from me:
What have you learned in the last year that you’re thankful for? And what experience from the last year are you thankful for? We’d love for you to share your answers below!
From the team at OpenSesame, Happy Thanksgiving!
