Too broad, too simple
Course is superficial and does not provide applicable insight to guide companies evaluating different options to enter foreign markets. Examples cover a wide spectrum of industries, but are limited to F500 companies and are not particularly useful for companies with limited to no international experience.
The video was informative and
The video was informative and constructed very well. However, the pop-up of the woman raising her hand throughout the course was rather distracting--especially because it would pop up while the narrator was speaking.
Fantastic look into the minds of mass marketers and how companies try to get into consumers' heads. The Abercrombie & Fitch case study was very interesting and a relevant example. It's one thing to have a good product that you can believe in but it's a separate battle trying to get consumers to believe the same thing. Great course for any marketing or sales effort trying to fully understand the consumer.
Nicely done but some technical difficulties
I didn't go all the way through the lesson as I ran into difficulty with a popup window that wouldn't close (I'm running Ubuntu 12.04 (Linux) so this may be specific to Linux). It basically was in the section on 'Thank You Notes' and all it mentioned was that examples were available under resources. For this type of announcement, maybe it would be better to popup a small window for a few seconds and pop it down so that it's not quite as intrusive (or maybe mention the supplemental material inside the video). The interface itself has a lot of features which can be nice for complex subjects but can a little daunting for a new user (albeit you did have a short intro for the new user which was nice). Also, good amount of supplemental material is good to have.
I really appreciated this course on recordkeeping because of the number of ways it taught the material. It used a human narrator and online transcript to make sure the user was following along, whether they preferred auditory or written learning. This tutorial also had a number of helpful feature, like a notepad and easy video navigation, to enhance the participant's control of the course. I'd recommend this course to anyone looking to learn about OSHA recordkeeping!
