Make the Most of #DevLearn

The OpenSesame team will be traveling to Las Vegas this week for DevLearn, the eLearning Guild’s annual scrum for elearning developers, leaders and thinkers. We’ll be manning booth #417 with hundreds of hoodies and OpenSesame keychains – and a handful of iPads.

We look forward to conferences as excellent opportunities to hear new ideas, meet new people and strengthen our relationship with the buyers and sellers in our elearning marketplace.

To make the most of DevLearn (whether you’re in attendance or not), take advantage of the conference backchannel:

  • Surf the backchannel. David Kelly (also known to some as @LnDDave) is taking on the monster task of curating the backchannel to archive and organize ideas, blog posts and conversations – and to invite those who may not be in Vegas to participate virtually.
  • Take advantage of Twitter. Nicole Fougere (@Schnicker) of Litmos wrote an excellent post last year with a recommended list of DevLearn folks to follow on Twitter. Why Twitter? People share ideas, suggestions, commentary and resources from the sessions they attend and conversations they have. Not sure how to use Twitter? Take our quick “Beginning Twitter for Professionals” course to get your sea legs under you and use hashtag #DevLearn to join the conversation.
  • Get the app. The eLearning Guild is walking the walk, and they’ve build a great mobile app that’s available for both Android and iOS mobile devices. This app will help you monitor the schedule, plan participation and connect with fellow participants.

What will we be up to? You know, the usual – our famous hoodie game. We pass out OpenSesame hoodies and keys to conference participants. If they pick the right key, they will be one of the lucky ones unlocking an iPad. Meanwhile we’ll be coming to you live with tweets, blog posts and ideas from conference sessions and off-the-cuff conversations. Whether we see you in Vegas or online, we’re looking forward to it!
