2019 OpenSesame User Conference [Volunteers]

We are excited to host our customers again this year for the 2019 OpenSesame user conference in Portland, Oregon at the Porter Portland Hotel. At this two-day conference, you will learn about new courses and product enhancements, receive product training, hear from other companies like yours about how they are using OpenSesame, attend round table discussions, and more, while enjoying the popular destination city of Portland, Oregon. 

Requirements for all roles:

  • Sign up for a shift(s) on Google sheet 

  • Put your shift on your calendar

  • Attend Wednesday, 4 September volunteer training from 1:00-1:45 PM 

  • Adhere to guidelines discussed at volunteer training (e.g. attire)


Publisher Showcase Assistant [10 September only] 
Want a chance to be a part of our Publisher Showcase? As a volunteer, you will help publishers are supported and set up for presentations, demos, etc. Please note that Sales and CSM are expected to participate as attendees at this event and should not sign up to volunteer. 

Open House Tour Guide [11 September only] 
All OpenSesame employees are encouraged to join us for the Open House from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on 11 September. Customers attending the User Conference will be invited to visit the office en-route to the Customer Appreciation Night at Providence Park. You will take small groups of customers on tours around the office and help with any questions, etc. 

Registration Desk and Information Booth [11-12 September]
You will be sitting at the information desk, helping to check in attendees, providing information about navigating the conference app and hotel, directing them to their sessions, and answering any inquiries about the conference. You must bring your computer so you can message/alert other OpenSesame employees to help resolve issues.

Directions and General Assistance [11-12 September]
Your primary role will be to help direct attendees to various locations in between sessions and during breaks (e.g. restrooms, Publisher expo tables, snacks, meeting rooms). During sessions, you need to be available to help the Information Desk or event team (Brittany, Diane, Sam M and Agnes) with tasks as needed. 

Session Assistant [11-12 September]
You will assist the session speakers by confirming that all A/V is working correctly before the session, greeting attendees as they enter, passing out any handouts, and remaining in the room during the session to assist with any other needs. This is a great role for someone who wants to attend a session. Please note that the session schedule may change as we are still finalizing the speakers and times, so please be flexible.
