Hello! I am Christina Thomas, Program Manager with OpenSesame. Over the last month I have had the opportunity to get to know the OpenSesame team and am excited to be joining such great group of individuals. After 10+ years in a corporate environment I am excited to join this smaller, fast moving, and growing startup with a mission and a product I believe is excellent! Although new to this working environment, I am not new to elearning. I have spent the last 5 years working for Apollo Education Group in the Business Development department specifically on the Professional Development team. ... [more]

It seems like just yesterday we were making big plans to launch OpenSesame Plus (our newest subscription based licensing model) and, in the blink of an eye, here we are 12 months later! Before we take a sneak peek at what’s to come in 2015, let’s take a quick look back at some of the OpenSesame Dev Team’s noteworthy items from 2014. ... [more]

Hi, I am Shannon Willis Pier, Senior Accountant with OpenSesame. Many of you already know me, but I would like to take this opportunity to officially introduce myself. I am originally from Sparks, Nevada and attended the University of Nevada, Reno—with a major in English Literature. ... [more]

As we wrap up 2014, we’ve been spending time looking back on the year and how far we’ve come. We’ve grown our blog significantly in 2014, with this being the first full year of our commitment to posting five times per week! Our goal is to become a trusted resource for those in the elearning space; the content we publish and share really seeks to accomplish that goal.   Each week, I send out a weekly blog summary to our team to make sure everyone here at OpenSesame keeps up with what we’re doing in the world of blogging and marketing. ... We’re officially into flu season; is your workplace prepared? It’s important employees know the plan for illness and what your company’s policies are on issues like working remotely and sick days. Caution is best; if you’re feeling ill, evaluate your symptoms and make the call whether the signs point to being too sick for the office. Preventing illness from spreading through your office keeps employees, partners, and customers happy and healthy. After all, sick workers are unproductive workers! ... [more]

Hi there! I am Jolene Langford, Senior Account Executive with OpenSesame. I am delighted to join such a positive group of people all working towards the same goal of building a business. This is my first adventure with a startup, and from what I hear, they are quite addictive! After spending five years developing new business within the safety and training world, I ventured into the staffing industry. I went from wearing a hard hat and touring manufacturing facilities to the much more *safe* environment of sitting across the desk from an HR Manager. Both paths eventually lead me to telecom sales. ... [more]

Hello! I’m Whitney Ashe and I’m OpenSesame’s new Lead Development Rep. I’m excited to join the OpenSesame team and get the chance to work with some of you that I’ve met through BlueVolt. Before I came to OpenSesame, I was at Nordstrom for a brief stint. Before that, I was the Project Manager for BlueVolt’s creative team. During my transition to Nordstrom, I very quickly realized that I missed the elearning environment, as well as the culture that both BlueVolt and OpenSesame embrace. ... [more]

After three years in the Portland State Business Accelerator, OpenSesame has a new office to call home! Our new 4,600 square foot office is located in Old Town, which is exactly what Josh Blank, OpenSesame’s vice president and co-founder, was looking for. “We wanted to be located in a vibrant part of the city,” he noted, with plenty of amenities within walking distance and easy biking and public transit access. He also added that we were looking for a place that could accommodate our expected growth for the next couple of years. ... [more]

We are very excited and proud to welcome Austin, Chase, and Corey to the team! They are the latest crew to join our OpenSesame Engineering Intern Program.
