Improve on Workplace Learning with TED—Providing Content Your Team Craves

This article, written by Darby Coleman of TED@Work, celebrates the release of 20 bonus TED Talks now available in OpenSesame Plus. Curated using your feedback and TED’s most popular content, these talks explore essential topics like agility, AI, personal growth, public speaking, and relationship building.

In today’s nonstop stream of digital noise, delivering thoughtful, uplifting content isn’t just valuable—it’s essential for learning teams who want to truly support and inspire their workforce. Especially now, when organizations need their people to adapt quickly and lead with innovation. More than ever, employees are craving guidance.

Sifting through to find the ‘good’ is an additional lift in an already busy life and workday.

Finding a healthy balance in the content we consume

Staying informed without losing our sense of hope or drive is a common concern for most people today. Unfortunately, so much of what is marketed to us is negative or evolves so quickly that there’s no time to process and reflect.

Simple, achievable ways to incorporate quality content

There’s an opportunity here for learning and talent leaders to be the counter-balance; a trusted source of content that will support and guide the workforce forward:

1) Become a go-to source for content that is uplifting and motivational

Provide learning content that inspires and open minds to possibilities that will shape innovation—content that creates positive emotions in the workplace, differing from content employees may experience outside of it. Don’t just build it into learning programs and pathways; try to proactively push this content out so it’s front-and-center for employees. A popular approach is to launch a “TED Talk Tuesday” campaign, sharing a new talk across communications channels on a weekly cadence, giving employees a motivational boost to start their day.

2) Focus on the human skills that matter today

Equip learners with the skills and mindset they need to navigate the current complex challenges. Build the human skills that shape how we interact with others and help us collaborate well and adapt to change. While these skills have always been the foundation for effective work, the necessity and desire for them is even greater.

The support you need

TED@Work has launched 20 bonus TED Talks available exclusively for OpenSesame Plus, in addition to our already robust quarterly new content releases. The diverse ideas shared through these talks are expertly curated by our team based on the most popular content across TED’s growing audience, spanning topics such as:

  • Agility
  • AI
  • Personal growth

  • Relationship building
