Learning Technologies UK is packed. Two days, dozens of sessions, and more “must-see” talks than you can realistically attend.
If you’re an L&D team of one (or two), you don’t have time to figure it out on the fly.
This guide helps you focus on what actually matters: sessions that give you practical insight, not just big ideas.
Because this year, one theme is everywhere: AI is moving fast. But most teams are still figuring out what it means for their people, their roles, and their priorities.
That’s where we’re focusing: Workforce Reinvention. Not just adopting AI, but rethinking skills, roles, and how work actually gets done.
Our daily session picks
Wednesday, 29 April
Opening Address: The Augmented Workforce
09:30–10:30 | Conference Theatre 1
AI is changing how work gets done, but more importantly, how people think and make decisions.
Why attend: Giovanni Giamminola, author of The Augmented Manager and advisor to executive teams, brings a leadership perspective on AI that goes beyond tools. A strong way to reframe how you approach AI before diving into the rest of the conference.
Learning Technology in Practice: What the Data Is Really Telling Us
11:15–12:25 | Conference Theatre 1
There’s no shortage of claims about AI in learning. This session focuses on what’s actually happening inside real organisations.
Why attend: Dani Johnson, co-founder of RedThread Research, shares fresh research on how L&D teams are actually using technology today. You’ll walk away with a clearer view of what’s working, what’s not, and how to apply those insights to your own strategy.
Reshaping skills for 190,000 workers: A new model for industry-wide learning
13:15–13:45 | LT Awards Theatre
How do you modernise skills delivery across an entire industry, not just one organisation?
In this session, ECITB shares how it’s transforming learning for 190,000 workers across energy and infrastructure through a connected ecosystem combining OpenSesame and an LXP.
Why attend: ECITB won the 2025 LT Award Gold for best digital learning transformation. Get a rare look at what it actually takes to deliver skills at scale and what you can apply in your own organisation.
Workforce Reinvention: Leveraging your people to win in the AI era
15:30–16:00 | Expo Theatre 6
AI adoption is accelerating. Workforce readiness isn’t. Explore why the next competitive advantage won’t come from AI adoption alone, but from redesigning roles, skills, and workflows around human + AI collaboration.
Why attend: If you’re being asked to “do something with AI” but don’t have a clear path forward, this gives you one. You’ll leave with a practical way to think about roles, skills, and how to move from experimentation to real impact.
Thursday, 30 April
The Human Side of the Future of Work
09:30–10:30 | Conference Theatre 1
With so much focus on AI, it’s easy to overlook what actually drives performance: people.
Why attend: Niluka Kavanagh brings a leadership and behavioural lens to the future of work. A useful reset if you’re trying to balance technology with real engagement and adoption.
L&D in an AI World: Creating a New Future for the Profession
11:15–12:25 | Conference Theatre 1
As AI becomes embedded in everyday work, L&D is being pushed to evolve beyond content creation toward organisational enablement and strategic impact.
Why attend: Donald H. Taylor and Eglė Vinauskaitė’s global research offers a grounded view of how L&D is evolving. You’ll leave with a clearer sense of where the function is heading and what that means for your role.
The Power Shift: AI as a human workforce imperative
12:30–13:00 | Expo Theatre 6
Human + AI collaboration is becoming the new operating model, but many organisations are still treating AI as a tool rollout. Explore why AI is redistributing power inside the enterprise and why the real opportunity lies in treating it as a workforce strategy.
Why attend: It’s time to reframe AI as a workforce strategy. If you’re trying to influence conversations beyond L&D and into leadership, this will give you the language and perspective to do it.
Beyond the AI Noise: The Future of Learning in an AI world
13:55–15:05 | Conference Theatre 2
With AI claims dominating the market, this session cuts through the noise. Fosway Group shares independent research on how organisations are actually engaging with AI, and what’s real versus hype.
Why attend: Fosway Group analysts bring independent, research-backed insight into the learning tech market. You’ll get a clearer view of what’s real, what’s hype, and how to make smarter decisions if you’re evaluating solutions.
Let’s connect beyond the sessions
Wednesday from 17:00 | Booth G50
If your brain is full by the end of the day, you’re not alone. Join us after our Workforce Reinvention session to continue the conversation over an Aperol Spritz.
No slides. Just good people, great conversations, and a chance to connect with fellow L&D leaders.
Make the most of LTUK
A little prep goes a long way, especially when your schedule fills up fast. Here’s our top three tips:
- Plan your day ahead of time: Add sessions to your calendar in advance so you’re not deciding last-minute.
- Leave space for real conversations: The best insights often happen between sessions. Give yourself time to connect with peers, explore the expo, or follow up on something you just heard.
- Take a few minutes to reflect each day: Before you wrap up, jot down what stood out and what you might actually try. It makes a big difference when you’re back at work.

We’ll be at Booth G50 all week! Stop by between sessions, bring your questions, or just compare notes on what you’re seeing across the event.
If you’re trying to figure out where to focus, how to think about AI, or what this all means for your team, we’re happy to talk it through.
You can also take our AI Readiness Survey to see how your organisation stacks up, and grab a custom “Human-Generated Avatar” LEGO® minifigure while you’re there.
