About the Speakers

Laura Jacobus
Laura Jacobus is Executive Vice President, Strategic Advisory Services, at Mitratech. She has spent much of her career building, sustaining, and enriching both legal and business functions in high tech companies, including Cisco Systems and Juniper Networks. Her work has garnered recognition, including the World's Most Ethical Companies award. In addition, she has consulted in the area of ethics, compliance, and risk to various organizations. Laura co-authored Essential Lawyering Skills: A Companion Guide for Neil W. Hamilton's ROADMAP (American Bar Association 2021), which is focused on professional development and professional identity formation for law students, as well as cultural competence and matching personal values to those of employers. She also co-authored Ethics and Business: An Integrated Approach for Business and Personal Success (Wiley 2022). Laura also teaches in various undergraduate, graduate, and legal programs on a broad range of topics with the goal of helping students take ownership of designing their careers. She received a Bachelor of Arts in English from Santa Clara University, a Juris Doctor from SCU Law, and is licensed to practice law in California.
