What's New from OpenSesame: November 2026

November 4, 2026
Written by

Great learning programs don't stand still, and neither do the challenges they need to solve. From keeping employees safe to building AI skills and finding better ways to make training stick, learning leaders have a lot on their plates. This November, we're bringing you fresh courses, new research, practical resources, and a few reasons to celebrate the people making it all happen. Here's what's new at OpenSesame.

Celebrate the L&D leaders who make a difference

Learning leaders spend their days helping others grow, but their own contributions don't always get the recognition they deserve. Behind every successful training program is someone who creates opportunities, supports employees, and finds ways to help people reach their goals.

This November, we're celebrating those learning leaders through Grateful for Growth, an OpenSesame initiative recognizing the people who make learning and professional development possible.

Know someone who's made a difference? Take three minutes to nominate a learning leader whose work deserves to be celebrated.

For every approved nomination, OpenSesame will donate $10 to Opportunity@Work. And with your nominee's permission, we'll share their story with the broader L&D community.

It's our way of saying thank you to the people who make growth possible for everyone else.

Build practical AI, cybersecurity, and data skills with new Chegg Skills courses

As AI and technology continue to change how work gets done, employees need practical skills they can apply in their day-to-day roles.

More than 100 new Chegg Skills courses are now available in OpenSesame Plus, expanding training options across AI, cybersecurity, data, healthcare administration, and workplace communication.

These courses use real-world scenarios and knowledge checks to help learners build and apply skills, whether they're strengthening cybersecurity awareness, developing technical knowledge, or improving communication at work.

For OpenSesame Plus subscribers, the new courses can be added directly to existing training programs, making it easier to address emerging skill needs while supporting ongoing workforce development.

AI in L&D: Are we looking beyond faster content?

AI can help L&D teams create training faster. But here's a bigger question: Are we using it to solve the right business problems?

The latest AI in L&D: Around the Core report from Donald H. Taylor and Eglė Vinauskaitė explores that question. Drawing on research from 531 L&D practitioners across 55 countries, the report found that 68% of respondents said their organizations were using AI in L&D, yet content development remains the most common application.

Creating training faster matters, especially for busy learning teams. But AI also offers opportunities to identify training needs, support employee practice, and evaluate whether learning is improving performance. For L&D leaders, that's an opportunity to move beyond creating content and play a more strategic role in the business.

Want to explore what that shift could look like?

Join Donald H. Taylor and Eglė Vinauskaitė on Thursday, 19 November, for Beyond faster content: AI and L&D's role in the business. They'll share findings from four years of research, explore what's holding teams back, and discuss practical ways L&D can use AI to address bigger business challenges.
